Fit Dog Friday Award and Hiking at Tryon Creek State Park

I am truly honored and very excited to tell you all that ZoePhee won another award! Thank you so much to all the hosts of Fit Dog Friday: Slim Doggy, My GBGV Life and To Dog With Love. To check out the other winners visit My GBGV Life.

Yesterday we had a very busy day! We went to a few different places and I can't wait to share everything with you all! Since today is Fit Dog Friday, I figured I'd share the hike part of our day. We went hiking at Friends of Tryon State Park it's one of my most favorite parks in the Portland area. The park is pretty quiet and peaceful. You see people but usually it's a quick pass on the weekdays and then you have the place to yourself again. It's a great way to decompress after other busy activities. The girls really like it here and it's a great place to walk.

The park is famous for it's "Trillium Lily". They are really pretty and interesting flowers. They even have a festival every year celebrating them!

At one end of the park there's a suspension bridge. My husband is very fond of this bridge and it was fun seeing him become like a kid again and so excited about it! Zoe liked it a lot, too but Phoenix did not. The bridge made Phee pretty nervous.

Phoenix was much happier once we got over the bridge and there were fallen trees for her to perch on.

Zoe just wanted us to hurry up because there's more to see this way!! That's pretty typical for Zoe! She doesn't like to hang out or wait around for us!

We had a great time. We did around 3 miles, lots of hills and inclines. It was really fun and it's nice to go to a different park once in a while.

Happy Fit Dog Friday everyone! I hope you all have an awesome weekend!

  1. Those flowers are interesting! We're still waiting for more things to be in bloom here, so thanks for sharing some flowers with us! I think I'd probably be with Phoenix when it came to the bridge--suspension bridges are not my favorite thing :)

  3. Congratulations on your awards, it's always so fun to be recognized for our work.

It's a beautiful park. We went to our park yesterday and then I heard on the news there is a new tick borne virus that has no cure. Oy, I can see I'll have to find extra precautions to take when hiking.

  6. That bridge looks a bit scary to me too. We are not fond of things like that, but I might be able to cross it with some coaxing. Sounds like a nice walk.

  7. The trilliums are early this year! We were there earlier in the year but they weren't blooming yet.

  9. That sounds like a great hike! I love the lilies... and the story of the suspension bridge is quite familiar. Shyla gets spooked by some bridges too. It sure sounds like you are enjoying springtime!
